Chronology of Trade Typesetting in Canada

The first historic record, in chronological order, of the trade typesetting Industry in Canada covering the years from 1902–1938. Compiled by Ed Cooper, a partner in the Toronto typesetting firm Cooper & Beatty, the book provides a factual account of the industry’s development. As cooper notes, “The compiling of this Chronology of Trade Typesetting in Canada has been confined primarily to the recording of facts rather than with pretense to orderliness, or any attempt at literary style.” The contents of this important little book were reprinted in DA·67, Fall/Winter 2010.
